Spring Training Programs

Train with Efficiency • Train with Strength • Train with Purpose


Our programs are designed to take any level of runner and improve their running economy with tailored plans for that focus on mobility and strength.


Too often, runners hear the words “strength” and “speed” and immediately feel intimidated. Thoughts like, “I’m not fast enough to do speedwork,” or “Doesn’t running give me all the strength I need?” cause hesitation. Runners shouldn’t fear these words, but embrace them!  Some even say these myths have been known to be the best kept secrets in the world of running.


As a runner, strength training does not have to mean going to the gym and bench pressing your body weight or squatting a gazillion pounds.  It means focusing on key areas that play a part in running economy. Running is done in the sagittal plane (front to back) and utilizes a specific group of primary muscles to keep yourself in motion. Those muscles only have so much energy and stamina and if the supporting cast (muscles directly connected) isn’t doing its job as a support system then overuse of primary muscles can occur.


Program Details

Graduation races are Uconn Health Half Marathon, 10k & 5k

Training for this 8 week program kicks off Tuesday April 9th 5:45 pm Smith Middle School Track

By allowing us the opportunity to diversify your training, you will see improvement and also find a new understanding of what training for an event really means. You will find a newfound confidence in yourself and your abilities as an athlete.
